Lone Star Surrender Undercover agent Constantine Vega sacrificed three years of his life building up the case of a sinister drug lord But only days before the trial, after threats against his life, Constantine is on the run with tantalizing federal prosecutor Nicole Ward a desperate journey promising both sin and sensationNicole has been trying her best to follow the rulesrules that she once broke with disastrous results But the magnetic and passionate force of Constantine Vega threatens to unleash every tempestuous feeling inside her With so much at stake, can she trust Constantine with her body and her life Honest answer I didn t like this book at all Granted, I think this is the kind of book that might qualify as something that appeals to certain people, so there may be others who like it, but several times I wanted to stop reading this book Keeping in tradition with my point of finishing books regardless, it was a tough read.Reason being, for a suspenseful romance, it was sluggishly paced and the chemistry between Constantine and Nicole didn t feel genuine I should also add that the narration Honest answer I didn t like this book at all Granted, I think this is the add that the narration wasn t very good, as the reader for the particular audiobook couldn t really carry the character voices that well I kept wishing for a point where the characters to haveflesh and for them to have some sense of substance in the overall plot Despite being in peril, it didn t convince me The sensual scenes were carefully constructed, but that s about all that was in the collective story.Definitely not picking up this again I may try the author again to get to my Harlequin 100 Reads, but I sincerely hope that her other stories are much better for this particular line of books.Overall score 1 5 The Girl Nicole Ward is an assistant DA with lots of psychological baggage from her family and ex husband, who was into kinky stuff and dragged her along with him We re told she s tough except for a convenient case of claustrophobia that the hero helps her f ck her way out of , can shoot a gun, and after the constant workout it gets, probably the biggest clitoris in the tri state area.Approximate image The Guy Constantine Vega, undercover FBI agent He s not the guy on the cover There ain t The Girl Nicole Ward is an assistant DA with lots of psychological baggage the cover There ain t no squad car, no Stetson, no badge, no Walking Tall poster boy stuff Even the six pack and waxed chest is inaccurate This studmuffin has an EIGHT pack and is furry fuzzy fuzzy Oh, and he s also carrying around a bunch of psychological baggage about his dead brother I guess that s important. The Setup There s a drug kingpin that Nicole is prosecuting, and Constantine has been undercover with the drug lord for two years He will be her star witness, but he doesn t trust her to have remained uncorrupted by the drug lord s reach So, without revealing his identity, he gives her a fingerf ck under a restaurant table All in the name of feeling her out, so to speak After all, the vaginal wall don t lie.The Good Stuff Honestly, I m coming up blank It was so blah Fine, okay The hero and heroine did talk to another an amazing amount considering their mouths were usually glommed onto an orifice or appendage Never say I m not a silver lining reviewer. My Gripes And honestly, I know I m not giving this book a fair shake Blame the Starz Camelot, of which I only watched two episodes last night, but gave me enough random humping, pointless nudity, and graphic sex to last the next several months I picked this back up last night in an odd torpor of shellshock and boredom and couldn t go there any I was burned out.OK, off topic for a bit here, butSeriously, is that what these made for cable historical series mainly are Yawn I know I m going to sound like an old prudish fart here reminiscing about the golden age of TV when shit was clean, but Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty had enough chemistry without seeing her bounce and scream on his lap in the marshall s office after hours So the rating is elevated to probably what I would have given it if I didn t have Jamie Campbell Bower s sand encrusted, heaving ass still seared into my mind s eye Sex dreams with Guinevere on the beach before they even meet, FFS Enjoyable story with lots of action.Harlequin Blaze 442 This book was ok I enjoyed parts of it I felt it could never decide whether it was a romance or a thriller It just didn t get the balance right for me as a romantic suspense title.I like the conflict that wa sthere between the hero heroine but it negated the suspense part of the plotline for me It took me three days to read i kept getting distracted For a Blaze for me, that s not good This book
